Dear Fourth Grade Families,
I am Mrs. Rucinski, your child’s 4th grade teacher. This is my fifth year teaching at Spencer. However, I have been active at Spencer for many years (as a parent, a PTO member, and a substitute teacher). Previously, I taught 6th grade science for six years, was a program director/teacher at Brighton Cooperative Preschool, was a stay-at-home mom for eight years, and I also worked at Walled Lake Outdoor Education Center teaching environmental education and team building. I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialized degree in science and math.
I enjoy doing almost anything OUTSIDE! I love nature, collecting rocks, going on hikes with my family, studying beehives, camping, playing on Lake Michigan, watching the sunrise (and set) and simply just being outside. I enjoy yoga, volleyball, swimming, biking, and easy jogs. When I am not outside with my husband and two children, I am snuggled up reading with them.
I look forward to having a fabulous year filled with questions, discoveries, friendships, team activities, positive experiences, new adventures, and of course a lot of learning and personal growth for your child! I believe that honest and open communication between school and home is crucial during the educational process. Please feel free to contact me at school, send a note, or email me if you have any questions. I am excited to meet you and get to know your child.
Sincerely,
Vicki Rucinski
